Sewpony – Cosi swimsuit
The cosi swimsuit is a vintage inspired, modest fitting swimsuit for girls. There are seven views (four one piece and three two pieces).
Cosi features the options of including gathered centre one piece, peplum frill one piece and gathered centre two piece, amongst others. All can be made with leg frills and either halter neck or adjustable crossed straps. Cosi can be sewn with regular sewing machine or serger/overlocker. You can choose to fully line your cosi, or just line the gusset – instructions are given for both options.
Many sewers have made their first Cosi without having sewn with swimsuit fabric previously, so no worries, it is going to be great!
This product includes: an instructions booklet, and pattern in A0 (copyshop), and home print (both A4 & US Letter suitable), in English.

– For Fabric and lining, please refer to the product pictures enclosed
– 1 ½ – 2 YARDS/METRES of normal elastic 6mm – 8mm (approx. ¼”) width elastic for legs, around top of swimsuit and below bust of bikini top,
– Waist measurement (including overlap) of a swimwear wider elastic (20-25mm/3/4 – 1 inch) in the waistband of the bikini bottoms, (here we recommend swimwear elastic since it has a larger surface area, is lighter when wet and also dries more quickly than regular elastic).
Use swimwear fabric : Lycra/spandex (please note: these are the same fabrics, just named differently depending on where you are from), some polyester knits (composition: 95 % polyester/ 5% elastane) are also suitable for swimwear however suits in this fabric may need to be lined as they are thinner. I do not recommend buying the latter online as you will need to physically see and feel the fabric to determine whether it will be appropriate.
For lining (optional), use swimwear lining fabric.
