Charlotte Kan – Tsuno Tie bento bag

Sewing pattern Tsuno : inspired by the antique Japanese tsuno bukuro bags, and the still commonly used azuma bukuro bags.  Tsuno means horn and refers to the pointy handles that can be used to tie the bag. It is a super quick and easy project! It is perfect to use your fabric stash.

You can use it to wrap your bento lunch, for storage, as reusable gift wraps, as a diy teacher gift, as a produce bag, shoe bag, project bag to store your knitting, to organize scraps for that future scrappy quilt or as a shoulder bag with the strap. Endless possibilities!

The pattern includes the following options : flat or box corners, strap for shoulder hold; 7 standard sizes (XXS 18 x 18 cm / 7 1/8″ x 71/8″ – XS 21.5 X 21.5 cm / 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – S 25.2 x 25.2 cm / 9 7/8″ x 9 7/8″ – M 30.5 X 30.5 cm / 12″ x 12″ – L 36 x 36 cm / 14 1/8″ x 19 1/8″ – XL 42 x 42 cm / 16 1/2″ x 19 1/8″ –  XXL 48.5 x 48.5 cm / 19 1/8″ x 19 1/8″) and an xls file to help you calculate your tailored bag dimensions based on your fabric size.

Notions : Fabric : all is possible with the 7 sizes and the xls calculator. You'll need a maximum of 1,5m / 1 3/4 yard. of 111cm  / 44" wide  fabric if you want to sew all the sizes. Fabric for the strap (optional) : 7 x 91 cm - 2 3/4 x 34 1/4 4 x D-rings for the strap (optional)
Fabric suggestion : Light to medium weight fabrics Natural fibres like linen, cotton and hemp. look for: Voile, batiste, quilting cotton, poplin etc.
