Sewpony – Jeune skirt & top
The Jeune twin set is a sweet vintage inspired top and skirt with simple details.
The Jeune top features a round neckline at the front which can be accented with a half peter pan collar or tie collar. The short dolman sleeves sit over the shoulder. The back neckline can be made rounded or V shaped and the hemline of the top at the centre back can be made straight or angled. The top closes with buttons or snaps at the back. The Jeune top is fully lined and sits between the waist and hips. No seam neatening is required for the top as the seams are all enclosed. Only the side seams of the skirt need be neatened. If the top is made with snaps and without a collar, it is fully reversible.
The Jeune skirt is a gathered skirt featuring an elasticized waist. Big patch pockets can be added over the side seams and are integrated into the hemline. Wear the top and skirt together or as separates. The top looks great both tucked in or left out. The Jeune twin set is perfect for the beginner sewer. Jeune is French for ‘young’ and inspired the name of this pattern.
This product includes: an instructions booklet, and pattern in A0 (copyshop), and home pring (both A4 & US Letter suitable), all in English.

Fabric suggestion :
– For Fabric, refer to the product pictures on this page on the left.
– Buttons: from 3 to 6 x 15– 25 mm (3/4 -1”) depending on your size and whether you have sewn the half buttoned or full buttoned back. If you prefer to use snaps, you can make your Jeune top reversible! Simply omit under stitching the neckline and do not add a collar.
– 25mm (1”) width elastic for the skirt.
– You will also need a small piece (30CM OR ¼ YARD) of contrasting fabric and light weight fusible interfacing if sewing the collar or tie collar. If you prefer less structured ties, you may omit the interfacing.
The Jeune twin set is designed to be made with light to medium weight woven fabrics, such as, quilting cotton, double gauze, lawn, chambray and cotton linen.
The top is fully lined and the same weight fabric or lighter is recommended for the lining.
